How australianschoolfonts Ltd Started

We noticed something back in 2019 — loads of people wanted to get better at photography and videography, but most courses felt intimidating. Too technical, too expensive, or just not suited for beginners. So we decided to change that.

Why We're Different

We don't believe in teaching theory in isolation. You'll learn composition techniques while actually taking photos. You'll understand editing tools because you're using them immediately. And you'll get feedback that's real, practical, and actually helpful. No fluff, no unnecessary jargon.

What We've Built

Over the years, we've developed educational resources that work for real people. Digital photography basics that don't assume you've ever held a camera. Mobile videography courses that recognize most of us shoot on our phones. Composition techniques you can apply immediately. And editing tools guidance that starts simple and grows with your skills.

What We Offer

Our Core Learning Areas

Digital Photography Basics

From aperture to ISO, we break down the fundamentals. You'll understand your camera's settings, not just memorize them. By week two, you're shooting with intention.

Mobile Videography

Your smartphone's already a powerful video camera. We'll show you how to use it properly. Steady shots, proper lighting, audio that doesn't sound like it was recorded in a tin can.

Composition Techniques

Composition is what separates decent photos from great ones. Rule of thirds, leading lines, depth — these techniques transform how your images look and feel.

Editing Tools for Beginners

We focus on accessible editing software. Lightroom, Photoshop basics, and mobile editing apps. You'll learn what each tool does and when to use it.

Creative Problem-Solving

Photography isn't just technical. It's about seeing. We'll help you develop your eye and solve creative challenges with the resources you actually have.

Community & Feedback

You're not learning alone. Regular critiques, peer feedback, and a supportive group of fellow learners keep you motivated and progressing.

Where We Operate

Dublin & Cork

We're based in two locations across Ireland, each with dedicated spaces for hands-on learning. Whether you're in Dublin or Cork, we've set up proper learning environments designed for creative work.

Dublin Studio

Our Dublin space has been home to hundreds of learners since we started. We've got proper studio lighting, editing workstations, and an amazing community of photographers and videographers. The location is central, easy to access, and designed specifically for creative learning.

Focus: All skill levels, all learning paths

Cork Studio

Cork's a growing hub for creative work, and we've invested in a proper studio space here too. Same commitment to quality learning, same hands-on approach. The community here is tight-knit and really supportive of each other's growth.

Our Method

How We Actually Teach

1

Start With Your Interests

We don't force everyone through the same curriculum. Want to focus on portrait photography? Mobile videography? Landscape editing? You'll tell us what matters to you, and we'll tailor our resources accordingly.

2

Learn By Doing

Theory matters, but only when you can apply it immediately. You'll shoot photos in week one. You'll edit video by week three. This isn't abstract learning — it's real work with real tools.

3

Get Real Feedback

You'll get constructive critique that actually helps. Not "that's great," but "here's what's working and here's what could be stronger." Feedback that pushes you to improve without discouraging you.

4

Build Your Creative Confidence

Confidence comes from results. As you create better work and solve creative challenges, you'll realize you've got real skills. By month two, you're not just learning — you're creating.

Our Philosophy

What We Believe

Everyone's Creative

You don't need special talent to create good work. You need good tools, proper guidance, and the chance to practice. We've seen this happen hundreds of times — people who thought they weren't creative discovering they absolutely are.

Accessibility Matters

Learning shouldn't require expensive equipment or a background in art. We teach with phones, budget cameras, and free software. The fundamentals work regardless of your gear.

Community Accelerates Growth

Learning with others pushes you further than learning alone. You see what peers create, you get inspired, you get challenged. The best creative breakthroughs happen in community.

Creativity's a Skill, Not a Gift

You can develop composition skills. You can learn to see light. You can master editing. These aren't inborn talents — they're skills that improve with deliberate practice and good instruction.
